This book presents and explores Francesca Galloway's personal collection of 20th-century French haute couture and fashion, assembled over a period of thirty-five years. This profusely illustrated and carefully researched book shows over 100 pieces and focuses on those designers who shaped 20th century fashion and whose work embodied the zeitgeist of their time. They include Paul Poiret, Gabrielle Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Paco Rabanne, as well as Rudi Gernreich, Yohji Yamamoto and Hussein Chalayan.
